Protestant Church Square West in 1940

The Protestant Church is situated at west side of the central square (Now Merdeka Barat Street) and was built in 1912 on the place of the former church that was built in 1856. At the background we see the Palace Hotel that was built in 1916 (now Rainbow Hotel)

The front of the Holy Heart Church (known as Kayutangan Church) at Kayutangan Street (now Basuki Rachmad Street) was built in 1905 based on a plan by architect Hulswit. Towers are already built eside the entrance gate. Those towers are built during the years 1923-1926.

Roomsch Katholieke Kerk, Malang

The front of the Sacred Heart Church (known as Kayutangan Church) at Kayutangan Street (now Basuki Rachmad Street) was built in 1905.

Because the money and the construction problems, the towers beside the entrance gate have not been built yet. The architect was M. J. Huswit (1862-1921)
